1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or otherwise using the Manhwa Weebs website located at https://manhwaweebs.indevs.in(the “Service”), you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).

If you do not agree to these Terms in full, you must not access or use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following any updates to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

You are at least 13 years old, or have parental or legal-guardian consent if required by applicable law.
You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
You are not prohibited by law from accessing the Service in your jurisdiction.
Your use of the Service complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws.

3. Description of Service

Manhwa Weebs is an informational discovery and recommendation platform for Korean Manhwa, Japanese Manga, and Chinese Manhua. All metadata displayed on the Service is sourced live from the publicly available AniList GraphQL API and may include: titles in multiple languages, cover and banner art, synopses, genres, descriptive tags, scores and rankings, publication status, chapter and volume counts, start/end dates, country of origin, character and creator credits, related and recommended works, and a curated list of official platforms where each title can be read.

For a cleaner reading experience, the upstream data provider is not branded throughout the interface. In the interest of full transparency, however, these Terms name the source explicitly: all metadata originates from the AniList public GraphQL API, linked above. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by AniList.

What we do

Aggregate, organize, and present metadata about published comics.
Provide search — including a dedicated search results page — and filtering (by genre, tags, status, minimum score, and format), sorting, recommendation, and relation-browsing tools.
Offer themed discovery surfaces: genre and trope landing pages, curated Editor's Collections, and read-only creator and character pages reachable from a title's detail page.
Offer a “Surprise Me” random-discovery feature and a tabbed Popular / Trending / Top-Rated view.
Provide a light / dark appearance toggle; your preference is stored only in your own browser — see Section 4.
Let you save titles to a personal My List watchlist and automatically remember titles you have recently viewed. This information is stored only in your own browser — see Section 4.
Be installable as a Progressive Web App (“Add to Home Screen”) with offline-first navigation between pages you have already visited.
Surface a Read Officially section on every detail page that links exclusively to legitimate, English-language publisher platforms — such as Webtoons, Manga Plus, VIZ Media, Shonen Jump, Bookwalker (Global), Tappytoon, Lezhin Comics, Tapas, INKR, Bilibili Comics, Crunchyroll, and Webcomics — where available.
When no publisher-specific English link exists for a given title, suggest the most common official English-language platforms for that title's country of origin so the reader can search there.
Apply editorial curation to the catalogue (see content policy below).
Cache metadata responses on the server side to reduce load on the data source and improve performance.

Content curation

Manhwa Weebs is curated for a general, English-speaking audience. Accordingly:

English reading links only. The Read Officially section shows links to English-language publisher platforms only. Links available solely in other languages (for example Korean-only or Chinese-only services) are not displayed, as they are not useful to most of our readers.
Adult content excluded. Titles flagged as adult (18+) by the upstream data source are filtered out site-wide, across every surface and orientation.
Boys' Love (BL) excluded. Titles carrying Boys' Love / Yaoi / Shounen-Ai classifications are excluded from all discovery surfaces (browse, search, trending, recommendations, related works, creator and character pages, collections, and random discovery) and are not accessible via direct link.
Girls' Love (GL / Yuri) included. Non-adult Girls' Love titles are treated the same as the site's other romance content and are not excluded; adult content of every orientation is already removed by the adult-content rule above. This is a deliberate, reviewable editorial decision.
Manual blocklist. In addition to the automatic classification rules, we maintain a small manual list of specific titles to hard-exclude where upstream metadata is mistagged. This list is an editorial backstop and may change over time.
These curation rules are editorial choices, applied automatically from the upstream metadata (with the manual backstop above), and may be adjusted over time. They are not a judgement on any title or creator.

What we do not do

Host, upload, mirror, stream, or distribute any copyrighted comic image, chapter, page, scanlation, or translation.
Operate, endorse, or have any affiliation with the publisher platforms listed in the Read Officially section. Those are independent businesses.
Sell, license, or sublicense any third-party intellectual property.
Operate as a publisher, licensor, or rights holder for any title featured.
Operate user accounts, logins, or any server-side profile. The My List watchlist and recently-viewed history are stored entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Provide comments, reviews, ratings, messaging, or any other feature that publishes or processes user-generated content.

4. Accounts & Data Collection

The Service does not offer user accounts and does not collect personally identifiable information through any registration flow. We use only the following technical data:

Technical telemetry. Aggregated, anonymized Web Vitals (CLS, LCP, INP, FCP, TTFB) and the requested route are logged on first paint, used solely to monitor site performance. This data is not tied to any identifier and is rejected if it does not originate from this site.
Local watchlist & history. When you save a title to My List or open a title's detail page, we store a small record (the title's ID, name, cover URL, and score) in your browser's localStorage. This powers the My List page and the “recently viewed” rail. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers, is not synced across devices, is not tied to any identifier, and is not shared with anyone. You can erase it any time with the Clear buttons on the My List page or by clearing site data in your browser.
Exporting your list. You can export My List to an Excel (.xlsx) or PDF file, or import a previously exported file. These files are generated entirely in your browser, are not uploaded anywhere, and contain only your titles, scores, and links back to this site (no third-party URLs). Exported files carry the Manhwa Weebs name and logo to indicate their origin (see Section 6).
Service worker cache & install. A small client-side cache is maintained in your browser to improve load times and enable offline-first navigation between recently visited pages. The Service is installable as a Progressive Web App (“Add to Home Screen”); installing it does not grant us any additional access or data. You may clear the cache or uninstall at any time from your browser/device settings.
Image proxy. The Service operates an internal image proxy at /api/img that fetches public AniList cover images so the dominant-color extractor can sample them without CORS errors. The proxy is locked to a strict allowlist of AniList CDN hostnames; it cannot be used to fetch arbitrary URLs. No user data is sent to or stored by the proxy.
No cookies for tracking. The Service sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It uses no third-party tracking pixels, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no AB-testing scripts.
No third-party requests on detail pages. When you click a publisher link in the Read Officially section, your browser navigates to that publisher in a new tab. We do not embed iframes, web bugs, or auto-loaded resources from those publishers, and we strip the HTTP Referer header on outbound clicks so publishers cannot see which page on our site you came from.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
Probe, scan, attack, or otherwise test the vulnerability of the Service, its servers, or its underlying network infrastructure.
Use any automated system — including scrapers, crawlers, robots, or spiders — to access, copy, or harvest content from the Service, except for legitimate search-engine indexing.
Bypass, disable, or otherwise interfere with the Service's security or access controls, rate limits, or content protections.
Submit malicious code, denial-of-service payloads, or any content designed to disrupt the Service or other users.
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.

6. Intellectual Property

Service content & trademark

All original content of the Service — including its design, codebase, layout, graphics, original copy, branding, and all derivative UI/UX work — is owned by or licensed to Manhwa Weebs and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

The “Manhwa Weebs” name and the MW logo are trademarks of the Service. They appear on files you export from the Service (Excel and PDF) solely to indicate that those files originated here. You may keep, print, and share your own exported files for personal use, but you may not use the Manhwa Weebs name or logo to imply affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship, or in any way likely to cause confusion, without our prior written permission.

Third-party content

Titles, cover and banner images, character designs, character names and portraits, creator names and portraits, synopses, rankings, ratings, tags, and all other third-party metadata featured on the Service are the property of their respective creators, publishers, and rights holders. Their use on the Service is strictly informational, editorial, and review-oriented, and is intended to fall within recognized fair-use and fair- dealing guidelines for criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, and research. We retrieve this metadata at request time from the AniList public GraphQL API and do not re-license, re-distribute, or claim ownership of any of it.

Creator credits

Creator names (mangaka, writer, artist, illustrator, letterer, etc.) and their associated portraits and roles are shown on detail pages purely as bibliographic credit, as provided by AniList. Inclusion does not imply endorsement of the Service by any named creator.

License granted to you

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted, by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

7. DMCA & Takedown Procedure

We respect intellectual-property rights and will respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and analogous frameworks. To submit a notice, please send the following information to manhwaweebs@gmail.com:

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
Identification of the material on our Service that is claimed to infringe, with sufficient detail (URLs preferred) for us to locate it.
Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email.
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Because we do not host or distribute any comic image files, chapters, pages, or scanlations — only descriptive metadata aggregated from AniList — the typical pathway for content takedown is the upstream source (AniList) or the rights holder's licensed distributor (the publishers linked in our Read Officially section). We will, however, promptly:

Remove or hide any specific metadata entry from our Service.
Remove a specific publisher link from a title's Read Officially section if a rights holder advises that the link is unauthorized.
Forward any complaint we receive to the relevant upstream party (AniList or the named publisher) so they can address it at the source.

8. Third-Party Services & Links

Services we depend on

The Service is built on top of and relies on:

AniList — public GraphQL API for all metadata. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by AniList.
Vercel — hosting, edge runtime, image optimization, and content delivery.
Google Fonts — typography delivery (the Inter font family is self-hosted via next/font and does not make external requests at page load).

Publisher / reading-platform links

Every detail page contains a Read Officially section with outbound links to legitimate, official platforms where each title can be read. These may include but are not limited to: Webtoons, Manga Plus by Shueisha, VIZ Media, Kakao Page, Naver Series, LINE Manga, Bookwalker, Shonen Jump, Tappytoon, Lezhin Comics, Tapas, Crunchyroll, Bilibili Comics, Tencent Comics, Kuaikan Manhua, and Webcomics.

We do not have, claim, or imply any affiliation with these publishers. We do not receive payment, commission, or referral credit when you click an outbound link. We do not embed any of their content; we only link to it. Outbound links open in a new tab with the HTTP Referer header suppressed (via rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow") so the destination publisher cannot identify which page on our site you came from.

General disclaimer

We have no control over the content, pricing, availability, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service linked from the Service, and do not endorse any of them. Your interactions with third-party services are governed by those services' own terms and privacy policies. Manhwa Weebs is not responsible for any loss, damage, charge, dispute, or harm arising from your use of third-party services accessed through the Service, including (without limitation) subscription charges, regional restrictions, or content disagreements.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The Service will meet your specific requirements.
The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content, including AniList-sourced data, is guaranteed.
Any errors in the Service will be corrected.
The visual presentation, animations, or performance will be identical across all browsers and devices. To preserve responsiveness, the Service adapts or reduces certain visual effects based on your browser engine, hardware capabilities, screen size, pointer type, and accessibility preferences (such as reduced-motion). These adaptations are intentional and do not affect access to any content or functionality.

You acknowledge that you use the Service at your sole risk and discretion.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MANHWA WEEBS, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SERVICE — WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Manhwa Weebs and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right.

12. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service — or any portion or feature thereof — at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by, at minimum, prominent notice on the Service for a reasonable period of time.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice, including for any violation of these Terms. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination — including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability — will survive.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Service will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the operator's principal place of business, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

16. Dispute Resolution

You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or to your use of the Service will be resolved as follows:

Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at manhwaweebs@gmail.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days.
Exclusive forum. If informal resolution fails, you agree that any judicial proceeding will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of the operator's principal jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Class-action waiver. To the extent permitted by law, you waive any right to participate in a class action, consolidated action, or representative proceeding against Manhwa Weebs.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to be enforceable, or, if no such modification is possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms — together with any policies referenced herein — constitute the entire agreement between you and Manhwa Weebs regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements, communications, or proposals, whether oral or written, between you and Manhwa Weebs on the subject matter.

No waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective unless in writing, and no failure or delay by Manhwa Weebs to exercise any right under these Terms will operate as a waiver of that right.
