Shuri, also known to humans as Benkei (辨慶), is an oni from the Heian Period (1000 years ago). He was originally a villain who terrorized humans, but changed his villanous ways when he fell in love with the human Princess Shizu and married her. When Shizu died young, Shuri turned to stone in his grief. 1000 years later, Shuri awakens from the stone to seek out the reincarnation of this lost love.
