With a birth of great pain, Richard was born intersex (a general term used for various conditions in which a person is born with reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male). Richard has heterochromia iridium, making his left eye yellow and right eye purple. Richard's mother saw him as a monster and despised him.
