Amano has the ability to see Yo-kai via the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero (or a crystal in the anime), and fights various Wicked Yo-kai who inspirit others out of nowhere. He is also a fan of Moximous Mask, and considers the fictitious character to be his role model. He's also the original inventor of the Yo-kai Watch, as his Model Zero Watch became mass-produced by Yopple Inc.
