Kasim is a member of the guerrilla organization known as "Rebel Sword" and is referred to as "Demirel" (Iron Hand) within the group. Following the orders of the chieftain of the Furat Kurds, Urmuk, he uses the name of Jirou Manabe’s mother, Sari, to send a letter and lure Jiro to Istanbul.
