Toshimasa Takahashi was the seventh editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump and also known as the first editor of [Izumi Matsumoto](https://anilist.co/staff/97998/Matsumoto-Izumi) and [Yoshihiro Togashi](https://anilist.co/staff/96893/Togashi-Yoshihiro). On January 24th, 2003, he suddenly collapsed while attending press conference of [ONE PIECE THE MOVIE: Dead End no Bouken](https://anilist.co/anime/462/ONE-PIECE-THE-MOVIE-Dead-End-no-Bouken), he died two hours later.
