In the 1990s, during the renaissance of Korean pure comics, Kim made her debut with the short story "Chonnom" for the magazine Touch's rookie contest. Her next work, "Hwangmujiui Majimak Dungji", gained explosive popularity due to her distinctive style of drawing as well as the story of rebellious and free youth.
