Two years after the end of the One Year War, the space fortress ship “Aria”—the only manned spacecraft in Jupiter’s orbit—is on a mission to destroy a factory ship constructed in Jupiter’s orbit to cut off the Federation’s supply of helium. Johnny Ridden and Tita, a female pilot believed to be a Newtype, who are aboard the Aria, are attacked by a phantom of Char. (Jupiter Mirage-1 and 2)



Physical chemist Niki Shimazu, protesting the Jupiter Orbit Research Foundation’s concealment of technology, seized the helium collection ship “Acta” and descended toward Jupiter. The Republic of Zeon hastily secured the Foundation as a sponsor and dispatched the deep-space vessel “Helldiver” to Jupiter with a crew of five. (Jupiter Mirage-3)
