What is Reincarnation?

Reincarnation drops the protagonist into a new life — sometimes as a baby with adult memories, sometimes into another person entirely, sometimes into the world of a novel or game they once read.

It overlaps heavily with regression and isekai, but the defining beat is rebirth: a fresh start with carried-over knowledge or skills. It powers everything from epic fantasy sagas (a reborn mage relearning magic) to cosy romance-fantasy.
