What is Villainess?

A staple of romance-fantasy: the heroine is reincarnated (or transmigrated) into a story she knows, as its villainess — the character fated to be exiled, executed, or ruined. Armed with the plot's foreknowledge, she works to rewrite her fate.

The fun is watching her dodge her scripted doom: charming the people meant to destroy her, dismantling the original heroine's traps, and often falling for the very prince or duke she was supposed to wrong. Equal parts court intrigue, comedy, and slow-burn romance.
